Bringing together digital animation, laser projection, painted and printed imagery, this piece is part of an inquiry into the nature of light, a desire for shared understanding and knowledge, and at the same time a recognition of the state of unknowing.
The title “Decoherence” refers to a theory in physics between classical and quantum states that I am trying to understand and represent through a process of creating ambiguous visual and auditory forms. There is no negative connotation implied in the word, instead the suggestion of an objective state of being
About David Greeves
I am an artist and educator living and working in Norfolk. I studied BA fine art at Sheffield Polytechnic 1986-89 then worked at Hot Bed Press print studio in Salford, Manchester in the 90’s. Latterly I have enjoyed working as an arts facilitator and gallery curator at Barrington Farm, Walcott, Norfolk and since 2002 have taught A level Photography and Diploma in Art & Design at Paston College, North Walsham, Norfolk. My practice involves printmaking, painting, photographic and digital media. Currently I am in the second year of an MA Fine Art at Norwich University of the Arts.
